Southern Cyprus type site of the Neolithic II of the later 5th millennium BC. There were circular and oval stone and mud-brick houses, a simple pit-grave cemetery, and combed ware. A Chalcolithic Philia culture of the mid-3rd millennium BC was also found in nearby Sotira-Kaminoudhia. Small ornaments of picrolite (a type of soapstone) and pottery distinguish the Sotira culture; toward the end of the period copper came into use.
