A site in Argyllshire, Scotland, which was a nuclear fort of the Kingdom of Dalriada, besieged by the Picts in 683 and 736. Unfortunately, excavations carried out at the beginning of the present century ruined much of the internal plan, but the more recent investigations succeeded in establishing that the main citadel measured c30 by 12 metres and that it was connected to a middle courtyard by a stone wall. At the bottom of the slope was a lower enclosure with the remains of later houses inside it. The most important finds from Dunadd are several carved stones and imported Mediterranean pottery.
