One of the very few later prehistoric settlement sites so far investigated in the Central African Republic, dated to early in the 1st millennium ad. Artefacts of chipped and ground stone were recovered, but although no trace of metal was found, the possibility remains that Bataiimo was in fact an Iron Age settlement.
