Preserved body of an Iron Age man found in peat at Tollund Fen in Denmark; he had been hanged c 3rd century BC. Tollund Man had been hanged with a leather rope, and his body was dressed only in a cap and belt. His stomach contents were sufficiently preserved for analysis; his last meal was gruel made up of various seeds, both wild and cultivated.
