Site in third cataract region of Upper Nubia, capital of Kush under Tutankhamen. It is known for its sandstone temple built by Amenhotep III (c 1391-1353 BC), remains of the town of the late 18th Dynasty, and cemeteries of New Kingdom and Neroitic period.
