Egyptian god, brother (and murderer) of Osiris and also brother of Isis and Nephthys. With his consort Sekhet, he was opposed to the trinity of Osiris, Isis, and Horus. He personified evil and was represented with the black head of an unidentified animal. According to legend, his murder of Osiris was avenged by Horus. He was represented as an animal-headed man.
