Sarcophagus St Helena This monumental red porphyry sarcophagus is believed to have held the remains of Helena, mother of Constantine the Great, who died around 335 A.D. and was buried in the Imperial mausoleum at Tor Pignattara, between the via Prenestina and the via Labicana outside Rome. http://www.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani/en/collezioni/musei/museo-pio-clementino/sala-a-croce-greca/sarcofago-di-s--elena.html
A fragment of a porphyry sarcophagus from the Holy Apostles in Constantinople is remarkably similar to a sarcophagus in Rome. The sarcophagus fragment, now at Istanbul Archaeological Museums, is often associated with Constantine, while the sarcophagus at Pio Clementino Museum in the Vatican Museums was found at Santa Costanza and generally believed to belong to Constantina, the daughter of Constantine. www.thebyzantinelegacy.com/constantia-sarcophagus
