A Copper Age tell in northeastern Bulgaria, dated to the mid-4th millennium BC, with many occupation levels. Eight levels have 10-15 complete houses densely packed within a triple palisade. Poljanica resembles a Roman fort in outward appearance and the name is also applied to the Early and Middle Eneolithic culture of northeast Bulgaria, related to the Boian and Marica cultures.
