A sun-dried or kiln-fired rectangular brick with a flat under surface and a domed upper surface, used in the Early Dynastic period of southern Mesopotamia. They often had thumb-impressed holes on the domed surface. They were used with mud mortar in vertical courses inclined in alternating directions to create a herringbone pattern.
