Middle Neolithic system of palisades cutting across a meander of the River Seine in France. There are hearths, storage pits, pottery, and female terra-cotta figurines. Peat deposits preserved organic remains from c 7000-5000 BC, such as a dugout canoe and basket fish-traps.
