An important settlement near Lund in southern Sweden, dating to the Viking period. Excavations have shown that in the 9th-10th centuries this was probably the site of a fair, to which both native and alien traders came. Plentiful evidence of Slavic traders, for instance, has come to light and it seems that Loddekopinge expanded to a considerable size before it was superseded by Lund.
