Early Neolithic culture of southern Hungary which belongs to the complex including Karanovo I, Cris, and Starcevo cultures. The Körös variant is distinguished by its footed vessels and relative lack of painted wares. It is believed to have been the precursor of the Linear Pottery culture that developed on the Hungarian Plain.
