Danish BOG burial in central Jutland, belonging to the Roman Iron Age, with a radiocarbon date c310 ad. Grauballe Man was naked and had clearly met a violent end, his neck having been cut almost from ear to ear. His skin was particularly well-preserved by the chemicals in the peat. It was possible to reconstruct his last meal, which had been eaten immediately before death: it consisted of a gruel made of 63 different types of identifiable seeds.
