Doliche is an ancient settlement located in the province of Gaziantep, Turkey. It stands as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Turkey. Within this ancient city, remnants from the Copper Age and the earliest known mathematical artifacts have been unearthed. Doliche has undergone successive changes in ownership throughout history, passing through the hands of the Hittites, Medes, Assyrians, Persians, and Alexander the Great. Its significance as a transitional point between civilizations has been evident. However, with the establishment of the city of Antiochia ad Taurum (modern-day Gaziantep) in close proximity, Doliche began to lose its importance and assumed its present-day status.
