Middle to Late Bronze Age culture of southern England, named after two burial sites in Dorset. Palisaded farmsteads, nucleated settlements and some hillforts of this culture are known and many Celtic field systems are recorded. The dead were cremated and placed in globular, barrel-or bucket-shaped urns either under barrows or in flat cemeteries.
