The distribution of ages in an animal population that is the result of selective hunting or predation. A mortality model based on the bone or tooth wear is used to figure out attritional mortality victims (those dying from natural causes or from non-human predation) or by hunting or predation of the most vulnerable individuals - generally, the young and the old.
