One of the earliest 1st Dynasty rulers of a unified Egypt, whose name means "The Fighter". Funerary remains at Abydos Saqqara and Naqada attest the reign and Flinders Petrie's excavation at Umm el-Qa'ab (Early Dynastic cemetery at Abydos) in 1899-1900 revealed objects bearing the name Aha in Tomb B19/15. However the earliest of the elite tombs at north Saqqara of the 1st and 2nd Dynasty also contained jar-sealings from that time. Evidence suggests that Narmer was Aha's father and that one of the two was also called Menes.
