A rock-shelter site in western Thailand with a sequence from a possibly pre-Hoabinhian industry, Hoabinhian, and a Neolithic assemblage of Ban Kao type. The sequence could have the longest record of Hoabinhian development in southeast Asia. The pre-ceramic phase had pebble tools c 10,000-8000 BC. The term is also applied to the pebble tools.

A large rock shelter in Kanchanaburi province, western Thailand, which has produced a 4.75-metre sequence from a possibly pre-HoABiNHiAN industry, through Hoabinhian, to a Neolithic assemblage of Ban Kao type. The sequence is undated, but from its depth the site could have the longest record of Hoabinhian development in southeast Asia.
