Small mound near Larsa with a sequence of 'Ubaid deposits dating from c 5800-5500 BC onwards. Decorated ceramics resemble Samarran pottery. 'Oueli has provided the first stratigraphic evidence of early settlement on the southern Mesopotamian alluvium.
