The lead glazed wares are an important group in luxury vessels of Late Hellenistic - Early Roman Period. They take the name from high-scaled lead oxide in glaze. These wares have also an important by the history of glazed wares. Most attentive private of the lead glazed wares seems in relief decorating and colourful surface. All wares have two main colours: inside, light yellow-mustard; outside, green-dark green. Early examples produced first in North Syria. In Anatolia, the lead glazed wares began to producing first in Tarsus since middle of the first century B.C. But the notable workshops or this wares working during first century A.D.. They have a lot of finds especially in Tarsus, Perge, southwest region, - ancient Karia region- and in other minor workshops in Anatolia.
