Oldbury

Rock shelter in Kent, England, with a collection of tools of Mousterian of Acheulian type tools. These tools, including bifaces and flake tools, are more abundant than in any other British Mousterian site. It is one of the few areas of Britain with caves suitable for occupation during the Palaeolithic.

In the vicinity of former rock shelters in the Greensand ridge at Oldbury Hill near Ightham, not far from Sevenoaks in Kent, southeast England, a collection of tools of Mousterian of Acheulian type have been found. They are more abundant than in any other British Mousterian site, but poor by the standards of the caves of southwest France.
